Signed original tree ring print made from a previously fallen Oak tree from Williamsburg Virginia.
This particular tree grew along the banks of the Powhatan Creek in the historic triangle of Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. The Powhatan creek was a waterway used by the indigenous people that included Chief Powhatan and his daughter Pocahontas. The first European settlers came across the creek in 1607. it's a beautiful and historic area and I love the idea of capturing some of the history of the location through the rings of a tree that grew there.
